Paul S. Douglass, Esq., was born in Lewiston, Maine in 1952 and has practiced law in Lewiston, Maine, for 30 years. Mr. Douglass is a graduate of Harvard College in Cambridge Massachusetts, where he received a B.A. degree cum laude in 1974. He received his J.D. degree in law from the Vanderbilt University Law School in Nashville, Tennessee in 1977.

Mr. Douglass returned to Maine in 1977, and, after passing the Maine bar exam that year, became associated with the law firm of Platz & Thompson P.A. in Lewiston where he practiced as a partner until 2001 when he opened his own office: Paul S. Douglass Law Office.

Mr. Douglass is one of the most experienced trial attorneys in the State of Maine, having handled over 185 jury trials in virtually every county within the state. Mr. Douglass has particular expertise in all aspects of personal injury and insurance law, representing both injured plaintiffs and insured defendants for the past 30 years. Mr. Douglass has had extensive trial experience in virtually all aspects of civil litigation, including personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, trespass and real estate disputes, and business and employment disputes. He has also had extensive experience in criminal law, ranging from traffic infractions to serious felonies. Mr. Douglass also offers services in all aspects of insurance law, including life insurance claims, property claims, disability claims, and all aspects of automobile insurance claims as well as probate law, real estate law and corporate law.

Mr. Douglass has argued several cases to the Maine Supreme Judicial Court involving important issues of insurance law. He has served upon the Advisory Committee on Rules of Civil Procedure to the Maine Supreme Judicial Court and is an active member of the Maine State Bar Association and the Maine State Trial Lawyers Association. He has participated as a faculty member at seminars throughout the state involving personal injury and insurance law. Mr. Douglass is active within the Lewiston/Auburn community, serving upon the Recreational Advisory Committee for the City of Auburn. Mr. Douglass’s recreational pursuits include hunting, fishing and trap shooting. Mr. Douglass is married to Neria R. Douglass, and is the father of three adult children.
